1.5 with AW-Delta spoilers
For the period of six years, Bo Sommerby from Denmark has driven this Alfasud Ti 1.5 made in 1982.
Before he used it, he disassembled it in order to get it sandblasted. Before being painted in silvergrey metallic he zinc-plated it. All this work was rewarded. During the six years in his property it never showed any rust bubbles.
To get some more air into the interior, Bo installed a sunroof which came out of a Ford Escort XR3i. As you can read in the headline of this page, this Alfasud Ti was equipped with AW-Delta spoilers (bumpers and "wheelarch extensions"). Those parts - and some more aerodynamic decoration - was also mounted on the All-white Alfasud Ti which was sold in Germany in a small limited number.
The engine also received some improvement. An overhaul was used to mount sport camshafts. Together with a CSC sport exhaust system this allowed the engine to produce 125 bhp.
An Alfasud Ti 1.5 QV spent its interior (door panels and seats). Then, Bo exchanged the serial wheels against 205/50 R 13 tyres on Melber alloywheels.
Later he installed a 1.7 IE engine into his Alfasud Ti. This engine produced more torque than the 1.5 litre engine. But nethertheless Bo regretted to have removed the 1.5 litre. He said that the improved 1.5 litre made much more fun.
Wanna hear the engine? No problem! Here you can download a .wav-file (656 kb) to your harddisc. Enjoy the sound of the CNC sport exhaust! You can hear this file e.g. with a Winamp-player or with a RealPlayer. Burnt on a CD-R, it should also be possible to play it on your home-stereo.
