Elias'
Alfasud 1.2 SC 5-porte
Alfasuds
have become rare in Greece. This is one of the survivors. It is a 1982 Alfasud
1.2 SC five-door. Its owner Elias Floros got it from his father who owned three
Alfasuds when Elias still was a child. The posilipo blue one on this website is
the last of the three and remained in the family. His father got his first
Alfasud when Elias was born - it replaced a Fiat 127 which had become too small
for the grown family.
The 1.2 SC with four doors and tailgate - or simply 5
porte (Italian for five doors) - is a quite rare version of the series III
Alfasud. It was not sold all arround Europe.
While the standart series III Alfasud 1.2 still had the old series II dashboard
and smaller (plastic) bumpers than the 1.3 and 1.5 versions, the SC (meaning
Super Comfort) features all
the trim and equipment of ist more powerful sisters. In addtion it has a
slightly more powerful engine because it inherited the series I Alfasud ti's
engine with 68 bhp and one double barrel carburettor. Unfortunately this engine
is combined with a long transmission ratio gearbox which eliminates all the
verve of this little engine.
Elias' car has been modified with a more powerful
twin-carb-engine, alloy wheels, Ti
headlights, a sport muffler, additional gauges for oil pressure and water
temperature, aluminium pedals and a wooden steering wheel. So nearly all the trim
of series III Ti is there.
