at the Oldtimer Grand Prix 2001 The Oldtimer Grand Prix 2001 which took place from the 10th to
12th
of August 2001 at the Nürburgring again offered many alfisti the possibility
to meet eachother in the Alfaclub tent. In front of the tent there was
- as every year - a large Alfa meeting. Many different and interessting
Alfa Romeos could be admired. E.g. an Alfetta GTV with the V8-engine of the Montreal
or an original Giulia Sprint GTA. Interesting - of course - but the following
pictures will only show Alfasuds und Sprints.
The first couple shows the oldest Boxer-participant which found the way to
the "Ring". It is a blue Alfasud (series I). The car had recently been restored. In the interior one
saw red skai trimmed seats without
headrests and a rubber covered floor. Quickly it became a main attraction
of the earlier Saturday morning. No wonder - this special Alfasud version
is presumably more rare than an Alfa Montreal!

Probably it could have been a candidate for a possible "best Alfa" contest.
Anyway it was one of the secret stars of the meeting. No V8-Alfetta can cope with it.
You will not find many of those Alfasud ti with 1286 cm³ engine anymore. Especially in this good condition... It was built in May
1978 and is therefor one of the last series I tis. This red one has been slightly lowered. It also got a new paint. The upholstery
of the seats (which was originally made of black skai and grey fabric)
had altered in the last years and was replaced by a mixture of alcantara
and black leather. You will not see the difference if you do not know it!
The only difference is the different smell and structure of the alcantara.
